A lot of new stuff for you guys today!
As you can see, weâve changed the look and feel of this blog, as well as added a few new features. We also have not one, but two new Alpha Male 2.0 forums to replace the old Alpha 2.0 Community.
Really quick before I get into all this; at this blog, there will be various little problems and bugs over the next few days. Please be patient; we will sort these out ASAP and be all done in a few days.
New Blackdragon Blog
New features of this blog include:
– Dark mode. Tons of you requested this; now you have it in the menu above.
– Better display on mobile devices. The blog looks better and reads better on phones and tablets now.
– Easier navigation of older articles.
– Less clutter on the top and sides of the screen, particularly in the desktop version.
– A paid option where you can listen to audio versions of every article (meaning all new ones as of this week), plus get extended audio content that isnât in the article, plus download PDF versions. These audios are all in my voice, like mini-podcasts. Weâve been doing this for a while over at the CJ Blog and the guys have really liked it. It only costs a pathetic $3 a month for all this.
– More features coming once we get the bugs ironed out in this new version. I’ll talk about those later.
The New and Improved Alpha 2.0 Community Forum
As most of you know, we were using the Ning platform for the Alpha Male 2.0 forums. Per your many requests (and a poll I did over there a few months back), I have chucked all that, and now we have a real Alpha Male 2.0 forum. The new Alpha 2.0 Community Forums are located here, now open for the public:
We are using Xenforo forum software, the best forum software there is, fully SSL secured. Head on over there and set up your account so you can ask questions and give advice to your Alpha 2.0 brothers. I will be dropping in there from time to time, plus I will have forum-member-only podcasts there as well. Itâs open for anyone and completely free. It will be moderated and run by our very own Caveman Lenox, and we will recruit additional mods if needed as we grow.
I will leave the old forums up for a few weeks (theyâre still at alpha20.ning.com) before taking those down. We have around 650 members over there, and you guys are encouraged to set up a new account and avatar at the new alpha20community.com. You are also welcome to copy and paste posts from the old forum to the new one if you wish.
Alpha Male 2.0 Facebook Group
For those of you who prefer a Facebook group rather than an actual forum (or in addition to one!), we have set up a public Alpha Male 2.0 Facebook Group you can use as a forum instead, or in addition to the Alpha 2.0 Community Forum. Just log into Facebook and then go here to join the group. I will be popping in there from time to time as well.
Note: This public Alpha Male 2.0 Facebook group is not the same as the two private groups for the Alpha 2.0 Business course or the Consultant Course. Those are different, private, restricted to participants in those courses only, and will remain so.
Instead, this group is a public group for Alpha 2.0s and those men who are working on their business and/or woman skills.
If you’re wondering why I did both a forum and a Facebook group, that’s because I wanted those guys concerned about privacy to be able to have access to an online community, as well as guys who prefer Facebook. One of the most common questions I get is âHey BD, where can I find other Alpha 2.0s?â I want to make sure that guys of all preferences have access to other guys who have the same interests.
So pick one or both forums, sign up, and enjoy. They are for you.
New Blogging and Content Schedule
Starting next Monday, April 8th, I will adopt a new blog posting schedule across both of my blogs, which will look like this:
Blackdragon Blog articles will be posted every Monday at 5am PST, once per week.
Caleb Jones Blog articles will be posted every Thursday at 5am PST, once per week.
âAnnouncementâ blog posts regarding new products, services, seminars, and so on can also be posted and will not count towards this once-per-week article schedule (nor will audio versions be done for those particular posts). My two blogs will be the twin edges of the Alpha Male 2.0âs sword. The new and improved Caleb Jones Blog is about business, finance / investments, and lifestyle, while the Blackdragon Blog will continue to be about dating and relationships with women.
Yes, that means I will be posting articles less often than before, but before you freak out, remember that Iâm offering additional audio content for each article for just $3 a month.
Also and more importantly, there’s a lot more free content for you coming very soon. I can’t give you details on this yet, but I’ll summarize an overview for you.
We are about to enter phase three in my long-term business plan for this Blackdragon company.
Phase one was writing The Unchained Man and getting that information out to thousands of men all over the world (accomplished), as well as updating all of my Blackdragon books and content (completed in late 2017).
Phase two was introducing my online courses and my World Tour (completed and ongoing).
Phase three is… well, I’ll just say this: by mid-June at the very latest, my team (which is in the process of doubling in size) and I are going to unleash a massive amount of new, regular, free content all over the internet. I’m talking about audio of me, video of me and others (in various formats), social media content on at least five platforms, and some more stuff beyond that I can’t talk about right now.
I can’t give a lot of specifics about this yet, but you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about shortly. Those of you who keep asking me for video or more podcasts are going to get what you want in a very big way. Itâs actually kind of insane; unlike anything Iâve done in my life. I’ve dropped almost 30 pounds since December and reoriented certain aspects of my life getting ready for this.
But I digress. For now, enjoy the two new blogs, the Alpha 2.0 Community forum, and the Alpha Male 2.0 Facebook Group. More goodness to come soon.
Want over 35 hours of how-to podcasts on how to improve your woman life and financial life? Want to be able to coach with me twice a month? Want access to hours of technique-based video and audio? The SMIC Program is a monthly podcast and coaching program where you get access to massive amounts of exclusive, members-only Alpha 2.0 content as soon as you sign up, and you can cancel whenever you want. Click here for the details.
The pale pink-ish background color of the quotes in the comments looks confusing and gives me a headache when reading. I think it’s because it’s a more bright color than the grey of the comments, so the transition from white (brightest), to grey (a bit darker), to pinkish in between (both white and grey brightness) strains the eyes.
I recommend you try to change it for a color a little bit darker than the comments background.
Testing.
Yeah, I agree. I’ll have them change it.
Would it be too much trouble to archive the old 2.0 forum? Also, will you put up those podcasts with all this new free content your going to unleash, or will they end up on the new forum?
Also noticed there is less time time to edit.
Not at all; that’s a good idea. I’ll see what I can do.
They will end up at the new forum and that’s the only place you’ll be able to get them.
There’s lots of audio content coming so don’t worry about that.
That’s intentional. For several reasons.
beast. my mad sprint for nuclear continues.
Latest blog comments and popular posts aren’t displayed anymore?
I’m trying to keep the main screens clear of clutter. If hordes of guys (hordes of guys, not just 2 or 3) request these things, I’ll consider putting them under a menu somewhere. But they will never be displayed on the main screen anymore.
Some comments:
When I click on ‘Coaching’ or ‘Podcasts’ then at the bottom of that page it offers me to post comments. Seems weird, is it intentional?
After enabling Dark Mode it would be nice if the button changed to ‘Disable Dark Mode’ or got highlighted or something.
The button ‘Post comment’ is in a different color style (looks like the color from the CJ blog) than the rest of the webpage, but I think this was here all along.
Blackdragon,
May you please insert the date of each article you write towards the beginning/on top. It gives me a mental note of what I have read in the past.
Thank you for your consideration
All of those things are known problems and will be fixed soon.
No. Unfortunately it damages credibly when people read articles they perceive as “old.” I wish people didn’t do that but they do. Dates will be located at the bottom of the articles, not the top.
Does $3-per-month membership include both Blackdragonblog and Calebjonesblog, or one needs to buy it twice?
Also how long are those Extended Audio Contents? It would be cool if you make it available for free for this very post, as a demo.
IMO, I (and many others) won’t care for the Audio Record of such a short article (the length you usually post here and on Calebjonesblog) so maybe you are wasting your precious time recording it yourself. I could be wrong though, but I suggest you track the number of ppl that actually use it đ
I couldn’t stand the terrible set up and design of the old Alpha 2.0 forum, so I never used it. If you could add a wingman board onto the new forum, that’d have sub boards for guys living in different continents who are seeking wings, that’d be great. Like: North America (US, Canada), South America, UK/Western & Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia/NZ, it’d be much appreciated.
Everything looks great. Nice work.
It only includes one blog each. Setting up for both was way too complicated, and it’s only $3.
5-10 minutes.
Go here to hear my voice for a very long time; more demo of my audio content than you could possibly want.
Dude… really? You’re talking to me here.
Go over to the forum and add that to the suggestion forum. If more guys support your idea we’ll do it.
Thanks!
Caleb,
Just to let you know, links to older articles aren’t working. They show 404 error.
We know. Fixing now.
I noticed the facebook group:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/294447914601020/
Is also accessible through the more readable URL:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/alphamale20
I suggest using only the latest URL everywhere there is a link to the facebook group.
Justified text is really bad for legibility. I suggest changing the text-align back to left.
I miss the latest comments section, too. It’s an efficient way of checking for new content without having to click and scroll down on every single article I’m following. And sometimes people make useful comments on waaaaay old articles, which would never be noticed if they didn’t appear in the latest comments section. Let’s have it back, please – under a sub-menu would be fine.
It will be cool if you will introduce the latest comment section.
Also ,in the future can you create another article about what books should you read?
The 27 books that you recomended in the last 2 articles were awesome and very helpful.
Agree. I will have it changed.
Okay, message received; enough of you guys like this so I’ll bring it back. It will be inside a menu though. Not sure where I’ll put it…
Absolutely.
I just bought Unchained Man, and the link to the zip file shows DNS.
One detail that I noticed changed compared to the first publication of the new website:
The “Start here” button on the menu directed to a page with links to posts you considered essential reads, I think there was also links to the alpha 2.0 forum maybe. I thought that was a great new feature of the blog. Now it just directs to the home page, which is the same as clicking on the blackdragonblog logo or selecting archive>all. Why so much redundancy? Can you please put back the page with the essential articles instead when clicking on “start here”?
Also, I disagree about the text justified so that the last letter of each line were lined as in a book. I thought it looked great personally. I guess it’s subjective, but I think align left looks worse, justified looks better.
