12 Apr Take the Survey – What Female Body Type Do You Find Most Attractive?

Men, please take a look at the below body types and mark down on the survey question at the bottom which body type you find the most sexually attractive. To be clear, we’re just talking about physical attraction today only; that body type that gets you the most sexually turned on; the one you would want to have sex with the most. We are not talking about the one you would most likely marry or boyfriend-up or have a long conversation with.
The seven possible answers will be displayed in random order. I will publish the results of this survey on this blog in a week or two.
Three quick rules before you answer:
1. Try your best to ignore the race, skin color, or hair color of the women in the example photos. This survey has nothing whatsoever to do with your racial or skin color preferences. Imagine all the below photos as your “favorite” (i.e. most physically attractive to you) skin color / race, regardless of what is pictured.
2. Don’t get hung up on the names of these body types. I’ll be using the general societal names for these things whether or not I agree with them. I’m sure we could all argue as to what the most appropriate names for these body types are, but I’m really not interested in that conversation. Don’t worry about the body type name, just focus on the description and the photo. By the way, I am also not interested in nitpicking the celebrity examples given. They’re close enough.
3. Women readers, please do not participate in this survey, as this will skew the results. We’re after what men like in women, not what women like in women or what women wish they looked like. (Plus I already know the one almost all of you women will choose.)

Hourglass
Big hips, big butt, small waist, decent-sized breasts but not huge.

Skinny
Petite, flat chest or small breasts, small butt, no hips.
Examples: Most supermodels
Pear
Small breasts or medium breasts, small waist, big hips, big butt.

Large breasts, small hips or no hips, small butt.
Examples: Kate Upton, Angelina Jolie
Curvy
Big hips, big butt, big breasts, smaller waist.
Examples: Salma Hayek, Christina Hendricks
Athletic Frame
Taller, broad shoulders, longer torso, small breasts, small butt, no hips.
Examples: Cameron Diaz, Kate Middleton
Proportional
Average size everything, more or less proportional to everything else on the body.
Examples: Britney Spears, Reese Witherspoon

Posted at 09:01h, 12 AprilIn my hormone-crazed younger days, a woman’s shape was the number one factor determining how much I wanted her (or didn’t).
I’m still a fiend for good curves and tone, and I still can’t stand too much flab, but now that I’m older, I’m more aware (than I used to be) of elements like her vibe, personality, femininity, mentality, the way she carries herself, the look in her eye, the quality of her skin, her hair, etc. These elements matter more to me now than they did years ago. And I note that most of these elements are much more within a woman’s control than is her general body type or shape.
PS. I always understood “petite” to mean she is rather short and without much excess weight/size (but she can have great curves). Petite women can be sexy as hell. It seems they are more likely to be more feminine, and it seems taller women are less likely to carry themselves gracefully, with feminine allure. That’s the trend I’ve observed among American women. A woman of any height could choose to carry herself as if she is lightweight or heavy, and that seems to be a key factor in how feminine she seems (or doesn’t). The key is her awareness and her desire to be feminine.

You know, I was hoping that would happen to me as I got older, but it hasn’t. I’m still one of the rare guys I know who looks at a woman’s body FIRST, then looks at her face SECOND.
If she has an amazing body (to me) and a 6 or 7 face, I’m very, VERY excited and turned on.
If she has a perfect 10 face but a Skinny body type (as defined above), I’m completely turned off.
Again though, I pretty sure I’m in the minority on that.

Yep! Me too! As soon as I thought “Curvy” she’s the first woman I went to.
She’s my ideal woman too (in terms of a body that is), though again, many men will consider her a disgusting mutant.
It’s so subjective.
I just glanced at the results so far (hundreds of votes) and so far anyway, there is definitely one body type that is kicking all the other’s asses. I won’t say what it is yet yet though. I’ll post about it next week. (And it could change as we get more votes.)

I didn’t say now I give more value to a pretty face. My response is like yours, in that the shape of her body turns me on much more than the beauty of her face. Yeah, I’d go for the great body with the okay face every time, and a gorgeous face with a blah body doesn’t get me going.
However, I’ve been amazed (dismayed) by how much the pleasure of sexing a woman with a great body can be diminished by her having a very boring (or annoying) mentality or personality etc. Or if her vibe isn’t feminine enough.
Is it “nit-picky” if I say Salma Hayek is “hour glass” rather than “curvy”? [Is her ass that big?] My Salma Hayek admiration goes way back. She’s also a good example of a woman aging well past 40 (but I think I’ll skip her latest movie, some gory gunfire marathon, yawn). Even if she was somehow ‘officially’ designated “curvy”, I wouldn’t turn her down for being labeled that way, ha ha.
What, a lot of guys “hate” curvy? Really? What’s up with that?? Well, some curvy women look much better with their clothes on than naked … gravity plus time can be cruel. I guess you’d put Sofia Vergara in the curvy category?

Yeah, many other men have said similar, but that just isn’t me.
I can have sex with a super hot woman and love absolutely every minute of it even if her personality is stupid, boring, masculine, annoying, or whatever. I just mentally stamp the letters “FB” on her forehead and enjoy it immensely.
The only personality trait that turns me off is “high drama.”
No, I don’t think so. I see your point; she could be considered Hourglass. The issue is she has huge hips, and I haven’t gotten a close-up look at her ass, but it’s hard to imagine a small or medium-sized ass on a woman with hips like that, but it’s certainly possible.

My guess? Societal Programming. Both the fashion industry and Hollywood have been trying to shove the Skinny body type down men’s throats since the early 90s. It’s worked on a lot of men. It’s also worked partially on other men, and these guys go halfway and like the Athletic look, which is simply a healthier version of Skinny.
I think in the last few years, men have started to move back to Curvy again for the first time since the 1980s, because of the relatively recent rise of women like Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian.
I really believe that Kim Kardashian has single-handedly shifted society’s preference towards big hips/ass at least a little bit. Pretty amazing when you think about it.

I like girls with very skinny waists and flat stomachs, even narrower than “Skinny” above, but with the same bust/waist/hip ratios as “Hourglass”. You find this body type most easily in parts of Asia, although some whites and Ethiopians have it too.

I chalk it up to a bad experience I had with a chick who looked very curvy and sexy with clothes on, but when they came off, her gut came spilling out of her shirt. Somehow, she figured out how to tuck it up under her bra and make her tits look bigger.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t confident or experienced enough to leave the situation, and that’s how I lost my virginity, lol.
Since then, I’ve learned to be a better judge of what a woman looks like with her clothes off, but I still can’t get it up for the pear or curvy* types.
*unless they’re very petite.

I woman can get away with having breasts on the smaller side if the rest of the body is nice but there is NOTHING worse than grabbing a womans arse and getting a nice handfull of pelvis bone or a saggy water balloon.
I once had a woman (a dancer) who looked great but to the touch she was too soft with no real muscle tone.
So for me its more about the firmness/flab to muscle ratio than the overall shape.
Would you say Kelly Brook was hour glass or curvy??

Frankly, I think people will be judging the photos and celebrities given vs. the actual body types you are trying to convey.
Also, “skinny” can mean so many things … do you me the waif-like body type? Petite? That can be very feminine. At the same time, if you’re talking flat everything along with being thin, and maybe gangly-tall … like a supermodel — that is not attractive to men, but reminiscent of being a teenage boy. Which is fine to be attracted to, if you’re gay.
‘Curvy’ is also variable. A porker is worlds apart from Selma Hayak. There have also been studies that men actually will prefer ‘curvey’ women, such as Selma Hayak, even more when they are physically hungry (vs. a very skinny chick).
Also the ‘athletic’ chick can definitely be attractive — the photo you linked is kind of gross, though.

Again I’m not going to give specifics because I don’t want to affect the outcome, but so far there is one definite winner, two more strong ones who both tie for second place, and all the rest are about equally distributed among the remainder.
Not what I expected at all. Very interesting. (At least so far; votes are still coming in; things could still change.)

I suspect that if you had asked people to rank the body types, you would end up with a very different result than you will get from this survey, at least for every type except the top.

Posted at 18:14h, 13 AprilYou left out what I think is likely to be the most popular bodytype with white guys, at least the ones deriving from Northern/Western European ancestry: the swimsuit model/Victoria’s Secret bodytype. This is sort of a combination of skinny and athletic, but with bigger boobs. So: long thin legs, very small waist, very low body fat, taller and more athletic look than most of the types you included, smaller ass but also with larger breasts… The upside down pear you posted doesn’t resemble this at all, I believe that’s Pamela Andersen. I’m talking about the body type that almost all Sports Illustrated Swimsuit models have. Given that that’s the body type put forth as sexiest for (white) men by mainstream media publications (but not porn), it seems like a big omission. If you add that I think you’ll get very different results.

I was very skinny for most of my life and didn’t get boobs and a butt until around age 25 … I couldn’t imagine wanting to be solid muscle up and down! I am petite and my hips are still super narrow (as with most of the women in my family), but you can’t have it all I suppose. I’m confounded by all the women who want smaller hips – I guess most people want what they don’t have!
Anyway, I didn’t participate in the survey since I’m a woman, but #12 is hottest IMO.

Posted at 18:19h, 15 AprilTrying to legitimize one’s own preferences by deeming the preferences of millions of other men to be “gay” is a bizarre male habit, and reflects anxiety that one’s preferences aren’t sufficiently socially respected. One could just as easily say that an obsession with asses, in particular muscular bubble butts, is “gay”.
One thing is certain: if you look at who the most visibly high status men choose as their public mates, it is almost across the board skinny women. The only exceptions I can think of are Kanye West and Ice T. But anyone else…Leo Dicaprio, Donald Trump, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Tom Brady, and most pro athletes, movie stars, and politicans have skinny wives/girlfriends. Go to any country club full of CEOs and other rich guys and you’ll find the same. So all arguments about individual and cultural differences aside, the dudes who have the luxury of choosing any type of woman they want almost universally go for what BD describes as skinny. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the most “naturally” desirable body type (which we have no way of knowing), but it does mean that skinny is the body type with the highest social value to high status men.
Anyway, from an evolutionary perspective, there’s no reason for men to be picky about body type and they should be attracted to any female who’s even passably or potentially fertile. It’s women who should be critical of and obsessed with male physique. That’s how it is in the animal kingdom, and what would be most “natural”, so if there’s any media brainwashing going on, it’s simply that which convinces men they’re hardwired to care so much about body type/appearance in the first place. If they’re programmed to spread their seed, that wouldn’t be very relevan, and it’s women who should be more visually discerning. Which is in facto the trend is expect to see. The fact that different cultures have worshipped so many different female body types while the male ideal never changes only makes this more obvious, the whole things a bit of a ruse.

Now you’re 100% correct. Men will happily fuck just about anything, women are picky as shit when it comes to physical appearance, and in both cases it’s biological. Empirical analysis from OKCupid clearly shows that women are 4-5 times more picky about physical appearance than men.

Posted at 20:20h, 15 AprilI agree that many women are picky about physical appearance, for sure. But for me it has less to do with the body and more to do with the face, eyes and style. Body types of past boyfriends have run the gamut from chubby to muscular to thin – and the same is true with height. I often hear men and women say that women want a tall man – for me that is not specifically something I look for, but then I am just barely 5’4″ myself so the pool of men who are shorter than me is very, very small. I’ve never dated a guy who was shorter than me, and it would be statistically unlikely given my height. IMO, it’s probably more accurate that women prefer a man who is taller than THEM – not necessarily that women prefer “tall men” in general.
One thing I always wondered about was why on many manosphere sites, there seems to be a STRONG preference for very skinny women, except here. I’ve seen women with beautiful hourglass figures and tiny waists get called “fat.” This could be due to the status thing mentioned above, but I just find it odd and the opposite of what I’ve heard guys in my own life say about their preferences. In my experience guys started paying MORE attention to me when I gained weight since I finally got some curves, LOL. I no longer looked like a 12-year-old boy!

And most guys I know who date(d) skinny/tall gorgeous girls are more like “look at me, I have really a high profile ’cause I’m dating a supermodel type”…but at the end of the day these same guys go crazy about any thick big butted chick that crosses their path.

I agree it has to do with the our out of control obesity and also something to do with teenage days when sexuality just blossomed. I call them “spinners”. So dominant people might prefer spinners in bed to toss around.
These girls are so feminine looking and tight that i cant imagine anyone being put off by this type even if they prefer the bigger version of the same thing. One of the comments above seemed to be describing about the exact same thing.
Lastly, I think the petite narrow asian hips might have something to do with a more bisexual energy due to looking more like male hips/butt. I’m not gay at all, but my intuition says there maybe be something to that.
Perhaps moving to the right place these tiny girls could be an outlet and save some of our mental brethren who do very stupid illegal things. THere are like 75 pound women in their 20s and up. Can be shockingly petite. Way too bony for me.
Dont get me wrong, some of the volumptuous babes still get me going hot, but not my top weakness. Give me both and i will be in heaven, and BD might just be my new Deity if he helps me achieve that. lol

Posted at 08:58h, 23 MayMuch of what you find attractive is environmental, ie what types of women are most common in the country/area you live in. For example, I have lived in Asia for half my life now (I’m 48) and there are hardly any ‘curvy’ or ‘pear’ bodies here.
Your concept of what is attractive tends to shift over time to have a greater affinity for those types. This is the brain’s way of adapting to a different environment in order to maximize your reproductive options.
When I arrived in Asia in my mid-20s my history in New Zealand had been medium height or more, rounded blonds. I had no interest at all in the local Asian women and didn’t see anything special about them, whereas my new male friends who had been here a while liked them very much and ribbed me about my ‘giant blonds fetish’.
Within 2 years Asian women were very much my preference, I learned to appreciate them. I tend to find a lot of the stereotypically attractive western women relatively unappealing and often have a bit of a hard time telling them apart.
But someone else in different circumstances will almost certainly have different preferences. Neither of us are right or wrong.
