Don’t Let The Collapse of Western Civilization Get You Down
Looks like some of you are getting depressed. I’m getting an increasing amount of you telling me that despite having a positive attitude and working on your goals, constantly watching our once great Western Civilization crumble around you is affecting your happiness, mood, and anger.
A lot of you Americans tell me that constantly seeing these new, record-breaking mass shootings everywhere is getting you down, plus the fact that openly trans people are now winning elections, as well as the recent wins of many democratic socialists in the last election (uh, yeah, I clearly warned you about that last year… that shouldn’t be a surprise, guys).
At least three of you Australians have told me you’re upset about the latest census that shows that Australia is now more Asian than Australian, and a lot of you Europeans keep complaining about mass immigration and government corruption.
And on and on, slowly the Titanic sinks. And despite the fact that you know you should focus on internal solutions instead of external ones, and you realize you can’t really do anything about the suicidal masses, you still can’t help but feel sad, or angry, or helpless, or <insert any other negative emotion> about it.
I don’t feel this way, and I don’t even remember feeling this way. It’s probably because I came to the conclusion the West is dying, and there’s nothing we can do about it, over 15 years ago. While many of you are just waking up to this reality now or very recently, I determined this way back around 2002 or so.
Back then, two things happened at the same time, one on the political right and the other on the political left, that made me realize that the USA was fucked long-term, no matter how people voted or what political movements they may attempt.
The first was George W. Bush’s fiscal budget for either 2002 or 2003 (I don’t remember which). This guy who was hailed as a “small government conservative” throughout the presidential election presented a budget that was a 24% increase in federal government spending, in just one year. 24 fucking percent! Yeah, great, good thing those fucking Republicans are for small government. (They’re not.) Worse, over 80% of that 24% increase had nothing to do with the war on terror or the war in Iraq. It was just more big government for no reason (other than the elites increasing their power of you).
I knew that Republicans would not only not get mad at this, but support Idiot Bush to their dying breath (which they did). Because of this, I knew that government would start to grow on overdrive and not stop (and I was right). I knew there was no “fix” for this. Left-wingers would grow government, right-wingers would grow government. That means America would eventually collapse.
The second thing that happened around the same time is that I started to notice daycare centers being built at high schools for the high school girls to use for their babies. As I’ve talked about before, society was now encouraging unmarried teenage girls to get pregnant, have babies, then live on my welfare dollars to support them. Great. Thanks, left-wingers. Worse, I noticed these high school daycare centers were not just being built in crappy, inner-city high schools, but normal, suburban, upper middle class, white neighborhoods.
I realized that we had crossed a point of no return. I knew that there was no voting this away; no right-wing cultural counter-revolution to reverse this. And I was right; society is far more left-wing now than back in 2002 when this insanity was going on. (The anti-WTO protests accomplished nothing. The Tea Party movement accomplished nothing. The Occupy Wall Street movement accomplished nothing.)
I knew that high school girls would continue to crank out babies, but more of them would go on welfare. And I was right; total welfare spending has increased since 2002 (food stamps, SSI, TANF, EBT, disability, etc). Ten years later, I would go out on a date with a white, suburban 19 year-old girl who said that of her nine girlfriends in high school, seven of them already had babies. Today, most of my current and ex-FB’s who are / were in their late teens / early twenties were already single moms. Being a young single mom on some kind of government assistance is now a societal norm.
All of this was over 15 years ago, so any feelings about how “Oh gee, it’s so sad the West is dying” are long gone for me. After seeing this crap over and over and over AND OVER again, for 15 years straight, man, you just get numb to it and stop giving a shit. Today I just sit back and laugh at the West’s stupidity and slow, suicidal death. I’m done being sad. Now I just shrug.
Another record-breaking mass shooting in the US or bombing in Europe? Yep, to be expected.
Another rash of rapes in Europe by third-world immigrants? Yep, to be expected.
Another one of the president’s closest advisors indicted on some major crime? Yep, to be expected.
On the verge of war with North Korea? Yep, to be expected.
Another report about how Western birth rates have declined, again? Yep, to be expected.
Most of the banks that were “too big to fail” now even larger than they were during the crash of 2008? Yep, to be expected.
A historic bond bubble, stock market bubble, credit market bubble, and/or real estate bubble? Again? Yep, to be expected.
I guess that’s why I don’t get depressed about this stuff while many of you do. Many of you are new to this stuff in just the last two or three years or so; I’ve been watching this garbage 15 years.
Regardless, here are a few things I can suggest to help make the emotional adjustment to accept that your once great culture is sliding down the toilet, regardless of who you vote for or how much you bitch about it on the internet.
1. Re-focus on your goals and Mission. This is the big and obvious one, but it’s number one for a reason. Yes, your culture may be dying, but that doesn’t mean anything in terms of your own life. My culture is dying too (I’m an American citizen after all, at least for the moment, heh heh), but I live such a fantastic and amazing life in every way, that to this very day, I still sometimes wake up in the morning not quite believing it’s true. This is the case regardless of my stupid, hyper-irrational, dying, suicidal society and culture. Hell, some if it is because of the dying culture (since a percentage of my income is directly related to teaching men how to avoid traditional marriage, which no longer works), which I’ll talk about in item number two below.
As I have said and demonstrated perhaps hundreds of times over the past ten years on my various websites and books, regardless of the Western world collapsing all around you, you can create and maintain a small bubble of awesomeness for you and your close loved ones that makes all of this chaos literally irrelevant.
So if you haven’t yet already, stop focusing on your nation, culture, race, or whatever, and instead…
- Set some exciting goals for yourself.
- Formulate a Mission if you haven’t already (get my book so you can learn how).
- Get some pictures and other images that represent these goals, and put them up all over your office, phone, and computer, and review them often.
- Write out how amazing your life will be in 3-5 years when all of your goals are done, and re-read it often (I do). Feel how wonderful that will be. I’m all about logic, but we humans are emotional creatures, so you should use your emotions to direct and fuel you, rather than piss you off about things you can’t change.
You and your close loved ones can live a great life despite what is happening “out there.” I am a quintessential example of this, and I’m not the only one.
2. Take advantage of the collapse instead of getting depressed about it. The collapse is going to happen whether or not you want it to, so instead of bitching about it or feeling depressed, exploit it so you and your loved ones can live a happier life. That’s what I do.
If you live in a culture that collapses overnight, that’s bad, but there are huge, and I mean huge financial opportunities when living in a slowly collapsing culture like in Collapsing USA, Suicidal Europe, or Cuckoo Canada. Here’s a few simple examples from my life…
In business: I’ve made more money in my businesses in the last 36 months than at any time in my entire life.
In investing: Do you realize how much money I’ve made this year investing just in bitcoin alone? I’m not going to tell you the exact number, but holy shit, it’s a lot. I’ve doubled my money twice, and already pulled out the money I originally invested, plus a healthy profit, so even if bitcoin crashes tomorrow I will still have made a lot of money.
In dating and relationships: While other guys are still trying to make monogamy work (idiots!), do you realize how hot the multiple women I’ve had sex with over the past ten years are? On top of all that, while guys are still trying to make traditional monogamous marriage work (major idiots!), I’ve found a woman I want to settle down with, and I’m having a great time with that too… without the monogamy or financial risk most other men incur when doing this.
I could go on and on, but you get the point. By taking advantage of this collapse, I am one very excited, very happy bastard who’s living a fantastic life that’s only going to get better. While many of you are just sitting around complaining about everything, I’m taking advantage of this bullshit so I can experience an exciting and motivating life for myself and my loved ones.
So ask yourself these questions:
-
- What are any opportunities I see in my area that are caused by this slow societal collapse?
- Other than the elites, who is making a lot of money right now, and why? Can I do the same thing? Even if on a smaller scale? And/or can I sell products and/or services to these people?
- What investments are going to do well in a slowly collapsing society? Or even better, what investments are going to do badly that I can short?
- Instead of the areas I see dying, where are the areas that are growing?
At some point in the next few years, I’m going to publish a book about some specific answers to those questions, but you don’t need to wait for me. Stop getting depressed or angry and instead look around for opportunity. It’s all around you!
3. Don’t forget that it’s the WESTERN world that’s dying, not the WHOLE world. Asia is absolutely kicking ass. Read this quick article that I wrote here about my last visit to Asia. Also read this article I wrote about exactly what China and other BRICS nations are doing to take advantage of the collapse of the West (and the USA in particular).
Yes, the West is fucked, but the East is rising. The amount of money, power, and opportunity over there right now staggers the imagination. (And not just Asia, but other nimble and creative places like Dubai.) Instead of hitching your wagon to a sinking ship, hitch it to fighter jet. Consider starting a business in Asia, or selling things to Asians (Asians living in Asia that is, not Asians living in the West; they’re fucked along with other Westerners), or investing in Asia, or spending more time in Asia, or something similar. And no, you don’t have to move to Asia to take advantage of this rise (though obviously I think that’s a good idea too).
Too many of you are only focused on the West when you’re ignoring the entire rest of the planet, much of which is doing very well and will continue to do well in the future (though not without problems; every culture has those).
The end of the West does not mean the end of the world; it means the birth of a new world. Instead of bitching about this new world, set a goal to live in this new world the way you want to live, financially, sexually, and in every other way.
Stop looking outward and getting upset. Start looking inward and getting excited.
You can do this. The problems in the West can’t stop you… unless you let them.

Hm, I am not sure if some of these points make sense, BD. Schoolgirls used to get pregnant back in the 70s and 80s too, but now they get proper conditions and its… bad? Western world is working hard at improving and growing its social welfare programmes and its… bad? I live in Ireland, who have one of the most generous social welfare systems in the world, and honestly, it feels great to know that if I lose my job, there is a very solid safety net I can rely on and not end up homeless, until I find next job. But I guess its bad too… The refugee question is somewhat more complex and I am probably siding with you on this one.
Overall, with all the leftist movement I do think we are getting too soft and guys are becoming increasingly “pussyficated”, turning into pathetic beta-whimps, and girls are pushing for more power to the point of demonizing all men, but thats about it. Its a big problem, but hardly a collapse.
I would instead pay attention to the ridiculous price increase in the real estate across all Western world, preventing young people from owning (or even renting) their own place and forcing them to live with their parents until mature adulthood.
I don’t understand a lot of these concerns. The teen birth rate has been decreasing for decades (see link below), so having daycare centers in high school will help these girls get an education and not be dependent on government welfare. I also don’t see why a trans elected official is a big deal, or immigrants.
http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2016/04/29/why-is-the-teen-birth-rate-falling/
@VSmile – If you’re relying on the government to keep a safety net for you in the case that things in your life go sideways, you’re bound to be let down at some point. The better route would be to:
1. Save up 6 – 12 months worth of living expenses in cash (or put half in gold as well to hedge inflation).
2. Work on producing a second stream of income, so that if one route goes belly-up, you’re not screwed.
Also, yes, real estate in many areas is far overpriced. But, like all markets, it will correct at some point as it has done many times before. Be ready with cash to invest when this happens and buy low.
Guys, I highly encourage any of you who are struggling to deal with the collapse, to get a copy of Caleb’s book and begin working on yourself. It’s the only way you’re going to excel in this ever increasing mad, mad world. Also, I recommend taking in some of the Stoic philosophers (Seneca, Marcus Aurelius). Adopting viewpoints such as theirs will help to ease the “pain” of watching the culture around you change.
You murdered us!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvuM3DjvYf0
All hail The Great Black Dragon, as after all he “told us so”
This post will appeal to all those who form their reality through the warped window of the main stream media.
Corrupt politicians, Muslim invaders, mass shooters, immigrants, overzealous transsexuals and single young mothers churning out babies faster than we can pay our taxes.. It’s all there.
Before the crumbling west fully collapses into ruins perhaps you can enlighten us as to when this utopian era, that we are fast slipping away from, actually existed?.
“I also don’t see why a trans elected official is a big deal, or immigrants.”
Most non Western immigrants have a fetish for ever bigger government. That’s why the Democraps love them so much. The 1965 immigration act letting in more from turd world and non-Western countries has been a bad combination.
As for trans people, they are less than a couple percent of the population, but the rest of us are supposed to bend over backwards for them? Screw them already.
Hey BD do you know a few good information sources for someone just starting investments? Kind of like an investments for dummies website?
Also you mentioned how a few guys are mad about the new population senses. You mention often in articles related to topics like this that western civilizations have “bad demographics.” What demographics do you consider “bad”?
The Left – “Everything is fine. Why is everyone complaining? I don’t see what the problem is.”
The Right – “We need to vote for Trump and scream at SJW’s on the internet! That will fix everything!”
Both factually wrong.
I don’t want to get into a left-right debate here. If, for example, you lean left in your politics and don’t understand why someone would be upset that millions of teen mothers are getting free government welfare from already overtaxed citizens, or why that would cause serious financial problems for a nation down the road, then you’re welcome to your belief. My point here is that A) the West is collapsing and B) you shouldn’t focus on external solutions and instead focus on improving your own life.
I am not a right-winger. I never said there was a utopian era. Right-wingers would say it was during the 1950’s in the US, but I wouldn’t make that argument. Read this.
I will say that factually speaking, Western civilization peaked at around 1913 and the USA in particular peaked somewhere around the early 1960’s, and it’s been downhill for both since then. Anyone trying to make the case that culturally or economically we are better off now than we were decades ago needs to prove that contention with facts. Good luck with that.
Motley Fool and Investopedia.
1. Millions of third-world immigrants flooding Western nations, raising crime rates and overwhelming government welfare systems that are mostly already bankrupt.
2. Increased amounts of blacks, Hispanics, Muslims, and even Asians, all of whom tend to favor big government instead of small government. The right-wingers are right about this. Where the right-wingers are wrong is that most modern day white people also enthusiastically support big government, so it’s not quite as big a of shift as what they’re screaming about, but the facts are indeed that non-white races tend to support big government, which is not something the West can afford right now… again, most Western governments are bankrupt already.
As usual, I don’t follow ideology on these issues (the left and the right are both highly irrational, and thus often wrong). I follow facts.
And both obsessed with vengeance and making a world that would only benefit them.
I’ve got five or so years on BD when it came to the collapse. It all started with the media obsessing about Clittin showing his dick to a government clerk instead of obsessing about how the right and the left are telling people what to do with their lives (the right) and what to do with their money (the left).
And now, guess what? Both sides are telling everyone what to do with both! And the nail in the coffin will be when the US becomes a poor man’s USSR (sometime in the 2020s). If you’re really broke it’ll probably be cool for a bit, but in five or so years time, the backlash is gonna be soooooooo bad lol.
Absolutely agree. Anyone who is even remotely concerned with their happiness and sanity ought to be heading over there. I intend to move to somewhere in Southeast Asia in the 2020s after saving up a whole bunch of money here.
Again, true story. Anyone who chooses not to do this and instead wants to “save the world” doesn’t deserve anything good to happen to them. Don’t come running when the very society you want turns against you.
If you look at it very closely, the biggest problem of all is mass immigration. That is linked to any other huge problem like public debt, violent crimes and terrorism.
The US has one big advantage: It is separated by a vast ocean from Africa. Europe is far less fortunate. The population down there is increasing exponentially and more and more people will come to get the promised free lunch.
With the current demographic trend, in one generation Muslims will make up for a significant proportion of Europe’s population. It is hard to imagine that there won’t be conservative Muslim parties in big European countries in 20 years or so. That is gonna be interesting.
I don’t see that happening in the US. But the US has a massive issue with the racial divide along the lines of Whites, Blacks and Latinos. That one could become tough as hell.
At some points there will be a need for walls. Probably this point lies in the past already. The Chinese, other Asians and Latinos won’t be hesistant to protect their culture by enforcing boundaries.
Hold on…you have occasionally made remarks about how incredibly stupid investing in the stock market is, and you’re telling us now that instead you have been speculating in BITCOIN?
Don’t get me wrong, I have been buying in frequently since it was at $200 and believe in the technology, but those two pieces of advice really don’t make sense at all. Bitcoin is NOT the conservative, intelligent choice between those two.
“Don’t invest in stocks but invest in bitcoin” is not an accurate summation of my views. Not even close:
– You haven’t been following my other blog. Read this to start:
http://calebjonesblog.com/speculating-vs-investing/
– Yes, it is very, very stupid to invest a bulk of your long-term investment assets in the US stock market. Especially right now with its insane bubble.
– Speculation is fine as long as it’s just a small percentage of your overall net worth. That way if you lose it all, you’re still okay. The amount of money I have invested in bitcoin, as a percentage of my overall net wroth, is quite small. And I have zero dollars invested in the US stock market, thank god. (Actually I’m shorting the US stock market. Again, I’m taking advantage of the collapse.)
The Far East’s climate kinda sucks. I’ve spent tens of hours looking for an adequate big city climate wise, and very broadly speaking it goes like this: either you’re in the monsoon zone and you get high humidity plus 2-4 extremely rainy months per year, or you’re farther to the North (eg northeastern China) and now you have really chilly winters (and I’m talking -20°C in several cases) because of Siberia’s influence. AND most of the big chinese cities have a pretty bad pollution index. So far my list only has one city I rated “kinda good” and a couple so-so cities.
If only for that reason – and obviously there are others, Five Flag-related – , BD is right to plan to do his business in China but live elsewhere. It seems secondary but I’m pretty sure living years or decades in a climate you don’t like *will* make you unhappy in a very real sense. I’ll keep looking for the diamond in the rough in Asia, but I’m putting more hope in Latin America. The idea of living there still pisses me off however; I’d much prefer if the West somehow doesn’t collapse and outgrows its sjw period so I can live either in France (like now) or in an english speaking country.
NOTE: This is written in my spare time, for personal intellectual growth. Not my day job!
Every Western country is overpopulated/overconsuming (when multiplied together). Far more than the East or South. So it’s a good thing not a bad thing. If Western culture is objectively better than the others, then why is it failing? We could be leading the way here instead.
And the Right attacks family planning and sex ed. Let’s apportion blame fairly and lead teenagers by example.
Sensationalist irrational fearmongering? I am surprised at you BD. Want to stop immigration of resource/poverty/war refugees? Cut the whole world population, rather than saving the West’s birth rate and building fortresses around it. Or just don’t add to it. It lowers our quality of life anyway, and certainly of your life as an Alpha.
Alternative being every man out for himself? Interior solutions work for some of the Alphas some of the time. They can’t work for everyone all of the time. We are free here, because the great movements were once there. Although not all succeed of course, like businesses.
It’s a dodgy philosophy. A good point, but needs a careful context.
You mean just before the first Great Imperialist War and a hot part of the cold war (Vietnam)? The consequences of growth. Expansion leads to war. The bust after the boom. How long did people think it was going to last? And we humans laugh at lemmings.
If ‘the best’ humans fucked up the West (and South), why on earth should it be any different in the East, or Mars, or Alpha Centauri? Not my grandkids who will be affected. Please don’t bring more innocent children into this ecocidal Ponzi scheme.
Unless we remain in denial. Does our motivation and happiness rest on that weak and shallow delusion, Alphas?
And when you’ve made your $75/year? The rest is just speculating against the West/the World/Others/Society. No wonder it’s sinking fast, with people taking advantage like that. Talk about a self-fulfilling prophecy. There’s being happy despite external pain, and then there’s putting your own damn boot in. A bit of selfishness may be a good motivator sometimes. But greed is neither ‘good’ nor Alpha 2.0. For me it’s also a matter of dignity of mission.
BD, you seem very high maintenance for a pragmatist life hacker. What on earth do you spend your money on? Serious question. I have no idea, I am a hair shirt kinda guy. Could I be happier? I would love to read a breakdown of your expenses, daily/weekly/yearly/lifetime please.
I didn’t say I was concerned with this. I said many in my audience are. I’m not irrational or fearful about any of this. I stopped giving a shit about it a long time ago.
Western civ isn’t collapsing because of the tiny percentage of people taking advantage of said collapse. The collapse started happening first. As Danny DeVito said, “Don’t blame me, I didn’t kill it. It was dead when I got here.”
Huh? Why? I don’t care about any of this stuff, and it’s bizarre you think I do. Reading comprehension much? Nor is there anything I wrote in the above article that indicates I spend a lot of money on stuff, which I don’t. I earn money for long-term investing reasons, not lifestyle.
I’m extremely frugal and barely spend any money on anything, outside of when I travel. My house is mostly bare. The bulk of my income goes right into my investments.
The left are here. “I don’t see how paying welfare for single moms going out to party is a bad thing.” You must be a hipster renting or living with family, under 30. Or black. It’s cool to be paying for her to have fun. (And if you think these single mom are hitting the textbooks studying and not partying, you are too removed from reality anyways.) It’s cool to be paying for her babysitting costs too. You must be in the low, naive income bracket and under 30 where don’t have to pay a mortgage or lease a vehicle. And your own tax contributions are too low that you don’t feel any pain while living in a house with 6 roommates thinking you’re cool. When dbag is more like it.
“Trans politicians are elected in the USA. Good for them.” Can’t wait for the day you have a Muslim governor, or higher position in government. Our Muslim USA politician is budgeting an awful lot of billions for Muslim causes, rebuilding their cities, emphasizing trade with the Middle East over others.. and I’m paying for all this with my taxes. Love the left.
Great post.
Ive spent the last three years learning Spanish and building some online businesses. Do you think any Latin countries are up and coming economically? (I think they all have better societal/family/relationship values personally)
Also , will there be a time when it’s illegal to be a digital nomad?
Sure. They’re not going to boom like Asia, but some will probably do well. No one can predict the future accurately, but places like Uruguay, Chile, Dominican Republic, and Panama may do very well down the road. Other countries, like Peru and Argentina, are 50/50. We’ll have to see what they do.
No, since there are 196 countries in the world and such a thing would have to be illegal in all of them to make being a digital nomad illegal.
It could become illegal in your home country, but that’s just one country. If you follow Five Flags or something close to it, you’ll never have to worry about that. That’s sort of the point (or at least one of them).
I make my final exit from the US by 2025. By 2030 at the very latest, I will literally not give a fuck about what the USA does in terms of its economy, taxes, or laws. It could all burn to the ground, or make everything I love illegal, and it literally won’t make any difference to me at all.
It will be a nice feeling.
I love America.
I could not imagine living somewhere where I could not have my hot rods, my bad ass boats and the rest of my toys.
We have the best weather on the planet for the most part, and there are absolutely incredible places to visit and vacation here unlike anywhere else on the planet.
Sure society is literally gone insane, half the nation has realized how fucking corrupt the political system we have allowed to foster is, all the way from the White House to the local towns and their City Halls, so we elected a TV personality…who could have called that 10 years ago! ROFL.
How do you feel about people who are planning to fight the end of America BD?
When they come for me and mine, they are in for a surprise! My current plan is moving to a like minded community of well off forward thinkers, we are gathering still. Not right wingers or the Militia, just a bunch of hard partying people who like to have fun. With our toys.
Love the blog,
SRC
Hey David,
Check out what’s going on in Chile.
You can have those same things in any other first-world country, and they’d likely be cheaper to own and maintain too. (I am seriously considering getting a boat, probably after I move to Argentina or New Zealand.)
True. We have good weather in the US as compared to other nations. Can’t argue with that.
But that’s also true all over the world. The US has nothing like the cities in Asia. The landscapes in England and Sicily are breathtaking. The beaches in Fiji will make you cry. Dubai will absolutely blow you away. And so on.
They’re wasting their time and their lives.
https://alphamale20.com/blackdragonblog/2017/07/13/the-stupidity-of-looking-for-external-solutions/
Haha, yep, “Just try and take my gun motherfucker!!!” I’ve already addressed people like you. Read the 9th paragraph here.
Thanks dude.
How much time do we have?
Argentina is doing very well and it is expected to grow in the near future. Uruguay is also expected to grow strongly. Family values are indeed stronger in latin america. A lot of people live with their parents until their 30´s and middle 30’s.
The cost of living in Latin America is incredibly low in many places. And the currency of most south american countries is weak compared to the dollar/euro. If you have a business that earns dollars you can live like a king in a south american country.
Japanese people consume a lot of manga. Do you think it is possible to make good money as a manga artist?
You wrote somewhere that you would love to write fantasy novels for a living, but that you would not be able to do it. Why is that, exactly? There are some people who have done it, so it is clearly possible. You are a very goal oriented person, and now you have a blog with a relatively high traffic that you can use to promote your novels.
Bottom section here:
http://calebjonesblog.com/how-bad-will-it-get-what-exactly-will-happen/
Good money? No. Average money if you get hired by a large manga firm? Sure.
The odds of actually making enough money to pay your bills as an artist, any kind of artist, including fantasy writer, are minuscule even if you’re amazing and do everything right. It’s like trying to get rich as a musician. Is it possible? Sure. Are the odds anywhere near likely? Nope, even if you’re good and do everything right.
This is unlike starting a business, where if you do everything right, your odds of making money eventually are quite good.
There are some people who have won the lottery, so it is clearly possible.
That is true; if I wrote a fantasy novel right now it would indeed sell and I would make some money. But I wouldn’t make a lot of money and it would take a huge amount of my time to write, re-write, edit, publish, etc, therefore it is not a good investment of my time right now. (If I told you how much money I make on just on the three days during a release weekend for a new Blackdragon book, you’d shit your pants, or probably wouldn’t believe me. I could never make that kind of money on a fantasy novel, even if the novel was fantastic.)
I really want to write though, so instead of writing novels, I plan on publishing a few short stories, hopefully next year or the year after. After my Mission shifts in to phase two around 2025, then I will finally publish the fantasy novels I’ve always wanted to write (and to some degree have already written in rough drafts and outlines), because at that point I won’t care how much money they make, I’ll just do it for the joy of doing it.
And that’s my point. Artistic endeavors are a labor of love and expression, not a way to make consistent money (barring the 1-2% exceptions to the rule, 95% of which is based on luck, not artistic or business skill).
Do you believe in getting vaccinations( tuberculosis, tetenis, flu, etc) ? Which two countries in south america and two in europe, would you say has the best looking women?
@ Blackdragon:
Yeah but why? Investing in what? Retiring as an older man on a boat in Argentina to write novels is not going to require that much cash. Especially since you’ll probably still be active and selling.
I can believe that your lifestyle may be frugal now. Perhaps you are also too busy to spend. Will you go on some mad shopping spree when you’re old and spiritual?
And making (taking) money only to do philanthropy (giving) seems grossly inefficient and counterproductive.
Technological Progress is Slowing?! technoslow
A short article for all you techno-optimists. Looks like we’re actually running out of ideas. It’s not just the West that is going south.
Just give me some range here, BD.
Reaching six figure yet?
I guess people are getting depressed because of the attachment they have with their environment. A case of neediness if you will. This is the main reason why they keep on worrying about stuff they shouldn’t.
Caleb-
You’re too dismissive, it’s not about being ok with big government, it’s about issues that either aren’t a concern (like teen pregnancy, which is going down, or a trans elected official) or is actually a sign of smaller government (anti-immigration policies are big government and anti-libertarian).
Leave some edginess for JOTB, whenever he comes around! lol
Its partly that, but a much bigger part is our love affair with collectivism and group mentalities. Both sides want to be some weird combination of Judge Dredd and The Punisher where they want to make laws that only benefit them, and want to eliminate anyone who does not agree.
If look to the core of both progressives and tradcons, you’ll see that they both operate very much the same way: Telling the walking wounded that there is a problem, that their external solutions are the only solution, and if you are not onboard with their external solutions then you have become the problem.
This has not been in style probably since the era of Antiquity, where everyone thought it was cool to have one person rule all and give everyone everything for free, so long as you support their world conquest. Socialism and Fascism are not new concepts.
The western world has gone backwards significantly, but you just gotta laugh at it.
[@ joelsuf:
I’m sure dottyJOB could find edginess in a haystack! I think I can feel a subsonic rumble already…is he preparing for a big one?
Isn’t our ‘love affair’ just how we’ve successfully evolved to be co-operative system thinkers? But then I myself am advocating going beyond what we’ve evolved ‘for’, so I can’t really talk.
How could there NOT be a problem, if they are wounded?]
For basic stuff when you’re young (tetanis), sure. For the extra stuff (like flu), no.
Definitely Colombia in S. America, E. Europe I couldn’t say (Romania?).
To not worry about money anymore.
I don’t give out personal financial information over the internet, but I have discussed many of my investments over at my other blog. That’s off-topic for this blog.
That is not my goal. Not even close.
Yes it is. To live very well and have a decent residual income on lower interest rates requires a decent hunk of money.
I disagree, but that is also not my goal.
You’re in argue-just-to-argue mode now and we’re way off topic. If my financial goals emotionally disturb you, that your problem.
No. I don’t give out personal financial information over the internet (and neither should you).
Yes, I’ve been making a six figure income since I was 27 years old (barring two or three tough years since then).
Taking people’s tax dollars and giving it to teenage girls to have babies is big government. If you support that policy, you support big government. Don’t try to weasel out of this; be open and honest about your views. I am.
For the third time in this thread, I agree. I don’t worry about these social aspects at all (outside of a economic big government context); men in my audience do.
@ Blackdragon:
Your financial goals can’t emotionally disturb me because I have no idea what they are!
Obviously I’m not after specific details. But please point us to the articles which describe your general retirement ideas and figures. E.g. have you surveyed old men and do they also need $75k/year? Most of what you write about is methodical, planned, researched, and open. What’s with the caginess here?
Shutting out the world in order to focus on making money is hard enough with CLEAR expectations…
Good. You’re not supposed to. You are free to peruse the archive of the CJ blog for more info, but I’m not going to go through it myself and pick out links for you. If that’s not good enough for you, tough shit, have fun freaking out that you don’t know specifics about my financial goals. This is the last time I’m going to ever respond to you regarding this topic.
You often mention it but what is “phase two” of your mission? I know you don’t like to talk specifics about your mission and you don’t have to answer if you don’t want to, but I am curious what will you exactly be doing in your life when phase two hits. You did mention some stuff about spirituality, writing, ending your focus on business, five flags etc. but I’m still unclear what the actual point of it all will be.
@ AnonDude:
Maybe our favourite fiery Oracle is actually as clueless as the rest of us about that and just looking for suggestions? I reckon a novel writer’s boat off Argentina that only docks to rotate women is the best gap filler so far. My own ideas are probably too ecowarriory and boring. As to “the point of it all”…careful AnonDude!
BD,
Thanks for this. It is important to point out that countries come and go. That does not mean people that one likes to associate with have vanished. A person only needs to know 150-200 people that they like in order to have everything that they need.
Here is the history of the world as an animated map in 16 minutes. It is probably the best YouTube video I have ever seen.
Note how many times countries fell and were replaced by a different political entity. I bet every single large empire thought theirs would last forever, and no one predicted dissolution even 20 years before it happened.
Sideburns, violation of Rule #1, and you were already on thin ice to begin with. Goodbye.
You answered a lot of it already. I’m not going to give any specifics, but speaking in general, phase two will be spent expressing myself philosophically, emotionally, and intellectually in order to A) enjoy myself and B) help a small percentage of others, without a focus on income (I will still charge for my work because you won’t be taken seriously otherwise, but I won’t have any specific financial objectives). This is instead of aggressively building an empire, which is what phase one is all about.
It’s not my sole objective, but you can’t see the point of spirituality? Or writing? I certainly can.
Agree 100%. You can be fine on even well less than 150, depending on your life logistics and personality.
Yes, I’ve seen it before. Good stuff.
@Sideburns
Look it up in google: statistics show that in the USA, reported personal happiness raises linearly up to 75000usd per year. Over that threshold there is no relation between reported personal happiness and income. That means the average reported happiness doesn’t increase with income increasing over 75000usd per year. I am not sure exactly how this converts in a Latin American country, or Philippines or Sub-Saharan country. But basically, 75000usd per year places you in the optimal income for almost anywhere you want to live in the world (except a few crazily expensive cities maybe.
As for why a lot of money invested is needed for BD to retire with zero worry, my understanding is that BD intends to use all possible technologies and medical improvements to optimise his looks and health as he age, as he already does with TRT (but not with his diet, which is arguably not optimal strategy fir health). Also for sex BD intends to use sugar babies, or other more or less direct form of p4p, or just increased expenses for woman life in general. Including sex AI and robots. I believe his strategy makes sense. Myself I see increased expenses in my women life as the only sure option for old age. There may be other options, but they aren’t as sure.
Has anyone any advice to share about living for a season in any Sub-Saharan country or Madagascar?
After quitting my corporate job, from 2013 October to 2018 June my past and planned living locations are, in amount of time spent:
24% in my collapsing western European country, where individual freedoms are attacked from all sides, it feels suffocating to me. And a collapsing dead end place. Mostly for paperwork and visiting my parents.
2% in Eastern Europe
7% in North America (sorry guys but for me that place of the world really sucks, I don’t plan on stepping foot back there anytime soon, and I therefore also blacklisted Australia and New Zealand as no go zones for me. I have mixed feelings about trying central or Latin America or carrabean countries , I really like the looks of some Latinas and black women though)
67% in Asia, mostly south east asia. I love the warm and sunny weather, islands, sea, beaches, crazy megalopolis such as Bangkok, the women are super pretty for me and I like very petite. Thailand for culture and food, and Philippines for nature and women (in average less attractive than Thai for me but I like the pretty Filipinas much more than the pretty Thais. I don’t like the korean or Japanese type, very ugly for me). On top of that, I feel much more free personally over here.
I have 2 favorite types of women in term of looks:
South east asians
Black, including black african
(and black+asian mix)
I kinda like latina too but more as a secondary trait in a mix.
I dislike the most, arabic/persian looking women, and I also find most Indian/Pakistanese women extremely ugly personally. Not a big fan of WASP or Scandinavian women (can’t even stand the smell of their skin for most). I have no interest in living in cold climates such as Russia or Ukraine.
In term of cultures, I find Muslim culture the most boring (been in Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Malaysia, all these countries deeply suck for me culturally) so I prefer to avoid any Muslim culture country, with the exception of Tioman island in Malaysia where I like to go occasionally for snorkeling with turtles and sharks (they don’t attack).
Anyways, after all this time in Asia, I start to really miss black/Caribbean/african women, and I am considering exploring sub saharan African countries. Anyone has step foot or live over there? Tried online dating in this continent? Working online?
Philippines, especially Davao City is probably going to be the place where I will continue to go back and live a significant amount of time. Ideally I would like to alternate living in both Asian and African continent or Madagascar for balanced amounts of time. Like perhaps 6 months or 1 year each.
BD how come you don’t mention India They will be the next power house nation and there not a communist country like China They have a huge potential to kick some goals like China maybe surpass China in the future!! Cheers
I’d like to offer some practical advice on this subject… news blackout.
Because of the internet, media of every kind is getting more and more shrill to grab attention. It’s a constant rainfall of doom/gloom and end-of-world bullshit. On any given week we are on the verge of a nuclear war, massive volcano/hurricane, social upheaval or financial crisis.
By “news blackout” I mean turning it all off for a few days to a week. It helps you get off the addiction to this highly entertaining but depressing shit. Afterwards it feels bad to tune in, and you recognize the silly repetitiveness. It’s sort of like losing your acquired taste to sugar and salt. The next time you eat some it tastes really powerful and off putting.
Once I tried a news blackout, it wasn’t long before I cut the cable and made it permanent. Gives you a better outlook and lots more time for useful projects.
Unless you had the ability to manufacture (and even if you do, we can’t compete with much cheaper labor costs in Asia), it’d be rather difficult for someone in the West to sell stuff to people in Asia, when almost everything Western people use, from electronics and electric appliances, smartphones, clothes/shoes, furniture, cars, etc., are all made in and imported from Asia.
I did. I said Asia. Last time I checked, India was in Asia.
That being said, India is a massive cluster fuck and its future is not definite like the rest of Asia. I’ve talked about India several times at my other blog.
Correct. I do this every once in a while myself.
Completely incorrect. You don’t have to sell products (I don’t). You can sell services and/or information. Asia is hungry for that.
@BD – this is branching out of the topic towards relationships
When you will be finally out of the collapsing west. Assuming you are in a (moslty) live in OLTR with Pinkfirefly, or another woman who demanded a similar rule as PF regarding not bringing (and fucking obviously) FBs in the home. What would you do in the following cases:
A-the OLTR goes back in the west more than a month before you for whatever reason, such as maybe because she likes to spend more time over there to visit more friends and relatives. Does this *do not bring FBs in the home* rule still holds during such long absence?
B-you go in a city for more than 2 weeks and the OLTR doesn’t want to go there for whatever reason such as she hates that place or prefers to go somewhere else that specific time. Sbould you bring FBs in whatever place you are living in this city during her absence?
My gut feeling is this kind of rule should not apply if the OLTR is temporarily gone elsewhere for more than 2 weeks. I feel demanding the rule to apply during such long absence is abusive. What do you feel is a reasonable demand from a woman in an OLTR as a rule on this topic?
BD so what happens if your timeline is incorrect?
I’m betting you say that you won’t care, since you are already in motion with your Mission.
However, I am wondering that you will not regret the lost financial opportunities?
About you referencing paragraph 9 in the other post, it was fairly vague about your position. Actually from reading your blogs I can pretty much guess that you have little interests in racing, outdoorsman type activities IE hunting, fishing, shooting etc.
I wonder why you are claiming external solution to the issue, instead of seeing it like I am following my own internal solution, grouping up with other like minded individuals to prepare to preserve our own preferred way of life.
I wonder if it has to do with the fact that you seem very isolationist? How many bury a body friends do you have out of curiosity?
Once again, dig your stuff.

Completely incorrect. Read this.
I never said what you were doing was an external solution. Please quote me correctly.
Nothing wrong with that at all, as long as it doesn’t involve violence as you implied.
All of my friends are either people I work with or women I’m having sex with. I’m an introvert, very independent, and very happy that way. But that’s me.
Hi BD, very interesting article here. I myself am an Asian living in Singapore, but I have dreamt about living this place and go to the west, because I like western women and the ASD in my place is really high. My place is quite a conservative place. In terms of economy, yeah I can’t really complain, Asia is a good place to be, but in terms of sex, I want to explore other parts of the world like South America, Central Europe and maybe even North America. I do live an Alpha 2.0 lifestyle financially (many thanks to your Alpha 2.0 book, it changed my life), so I can’t wait to explore the world!
My question to you is, why do you want to live in Asia when the ASD is so high? Of course in places like Thailand and Philippines it is better, but everywhere else in Asia is conservative. When guys complain about high ASD in the states, they just haven’t been to Asia! Isn’t it better to live in a sexually open place, while having a remote business in a financially well-off place?
@Johan
In which country of asia do you live in?
Also, how tall are you? I am exactly world average height at 174cm which makes me a bit under average in my country, significantly lower than average in Germany or USA/Canada, and small in Netherlands. But taller than average in most asian countries.
Yes, ASD is lower in USA even compared to certain countries in Europe, but this is a much lower force in large cities than the height + being physically exotic factor. Plus there are techniques you can use to basically completely go around ASD. But there is not very much you can do to improve your position in the competition in term of height.
BD is possibly gonna say that the height factor is not as important, but it’s because he is himself over 180cm in the to 50% of USA and has a large frame.
I’m not going to live in Asia. I’m going to live somewhere like Argentina, Australia, or New Zealand, and spend a lot of time in Asia for business purposes. Read Objection #4 at the bottom of the article here.
Yep. That’s exactly what I plan on doing.
So if you could somehow pay close to zero tax you would stay in U.S.? I’m sure you know that you can play really high stakes in BJ to mitigate this. Just saying.
Mind you, often the collapse of a great civilisation happens gradually and at first almost imperceptibly. Even the great Roman Empire was probably in decline for four hundred years before it eventually fell. By the end it was but a shadow of its former mighty self, of course. Other times, the dissolution can be much more sudden.
I live in Singapore. I am 180cm, considered tall here, and let me tell you that height is certainly not a big factor here. The society is just so negative towards sex here. I can rant the whole day about the ASD here so let me stop myself. I can’t wait to explore central europe and south america! I’m taking BD’s advice and hitting the gym now to get ripped.
@BD: fair enough. I’ve also read about the many flags concept in your caleb jones article. I plan on doing that. Thanks.
I seem to have a gut feeling that Bitcoin will crash in about a year or 2, burning a lot of investors in the process.
I would like to invest in it, but it seems too volatile. It’s grown far too quick in the last several months for it to be sustainable. Things may level off, but I get the feeling something’s not quite right with it. And my gut’s usually always right.
A bit like Myspace being taken over by Facebook.
If Crypto is the next big thing, then I would seriously keep an eye on some ALT coins as I envisage that there will be a new kid on the block that will literally blow Bitcoin out of the water.
@Tony:
Excuse me, but can you not see how your sentence contradicts itself?
First of all, daycare centers in high school……..how do I put this?………….ARE GOVERNMENT WELFARE!!!!!!!!
Also, a government education…………….how do I say this delicately?……..IS GOVERNMENT WELFARE!!!!!
So you think that these girls are avoiding government welfare……by giving them government welfare. Hmm, seems legit!
Really? You don’t see how illegals who destroy our culture, self-segregate, wave foreign flags, refuse to learn English, hate the United States, want to return 5 states back to Mexico, see this as Mexican land, are racist against whites, refer to us by racist pejoratives, treat us like unwanted guests in our own country, break our laws just by setting foot here, demand the legal right to drive here without even having a legal right to walk here, demand that American history be taught to their children from the “Mexican perspective,” insist on bilingual voting ballots, want the ability to vote for Mexico’s president from California via California-provided voting booths, refuse to assimilate in any way, insist on teaching racist anti-white “Chicano” studies in our universities, think that integration is “cultural genocide,” and just generally play that annoying trumpet music………might perhaps be a big deal?
You’re right. What could go wrong?
And please tell me you weren’t referencing the Muslims in Europe. Please tell me you understand how that is a big deal. Muslim rapefugees are turning Europe into allah’s snack bar!
Absurd nonsense. The opposite is true:
America is our private property. It belongs to its citizens. Anyone who isn’t a citizen is a guest. Guests have no rights, no access to libertarianism, no right to any American freedoms, or any privileges of any kind……except those which we (the owners) give them….and only if they say thank you, and perhaps take it up the ass for our amusement.
Have you ever been a guest on someone else’s private property, Tony? You’re a fucking guest. You have no rights. Only privileges. And even then, only privileges that the owners give you. You don’t like that? Leave! Or become a co-owner (citizen).
But the liberal stance on immigration is………Marxist! This sick idea that America doesn’t belong to us, but belongs to……..”EVERYONE,” and therefore, should be open for anyone to invade and trespass upon against our will, and that we have a “moral obligation” to allow it and have unwanted guests be treated the same as the owners because of….the poor starving orphans…….yeah, there is nothing capitalist or libertarian about that shit! It’s just the same “let’s share everything” Communist filth!
In fact, it’s precisely a denial of the fact that America is our property and belongs to us! We have every right to control our border, just like we have every right to lock our doors! They’re ours! Private property yo!
We have zero “moral obligation” to anybody outside our borders. If they try to come in illegally, they should be executed on sight to the tune of “livin la vita loca,” just like a thief breaking into your private residence! How’s that for a libertarianism that’s actually conscious of the property rights of its citizens? If I were president, I’d call it “Operation: No Way Jose!” Catchy, don’t you think?
Of course. What’s more natural than that?

Mr Jones, let me say this: I was glad to see your reply to that.
You are a very all-round person… and that’s the rarest, toughest-to-get accomplishment.
🙂
One consequence is, what you write here can meet needs of a huge assortment of people. As you say: everyone who wants to open their eyes, and become their own captain.
I have never seen you call “idiot” or “crap” any category of people. Because you can kind of understand why they are making the mistakes (or even crap) they are making.
You also know that most things about people can’t be changed — to change things about themselves, they should first become self-conscious, and as we know that’s already all too rare a condition.
ah the irony, Jack. Did the British and ‘Americans’ have a right to invade America and ‘manifest destiny’ while killing off a bunch of Indians and enslaving blacks? let’s face it, all is fair in war, especially one in which no bullets even have to be fired.
And lol on your fringe view of Mexicans. Children of Mexicans assimilate so hard many even become ashamed of being Mexican! Although I saw first hand how they acted during a trump rally last year. They were kind of silly, burning rubber and waving flags, but apart from that pretty harmless. It was the blacks and other non Mexican Hispanics who were causing trouble. Anyway, I don’t care either way. Not much of a nationalist, especially for a country that is destroying itself
Don’t get why my comment was under lined, I didn’t try to do that
No. The country is collapsing, and I hate what my government is doing.
I have multiple reasons for wanting to leave, not just one. Read this.
Thank you.
BD,
good article. As always no window dressing.
What I get from the article is that you basically agree with the pessimists.
To me it is obvious that you are VERY pissed at how things go south. You are just not responding by being depressed. You choose to ignore it or suppress it and refocus.
I think it is normal and healthy to be angry if you are watching your own country, your home, your base going to the toilet.
I wish you luck in your relocating plans. That sounds reasonable.
On the other hand, I am thinking: What if guys like BD, who have money, who are independent and who reach thousands of men would start putting their foot down and actually fight?
Harry Browne went to the presidential election and knew he wouldn’t have a chance. Still it was worth it to uphold libertarian thoughts and spread these ideas. I’m glad he did.
Oh absolutely. Those two in particular are my favourite things in life. That part of my question was more about what the end goal of your mission is? Based on your answer I’m guessing it’s for the rest of your life kind of deal. Thank you for answering.
@Johan
Yes, 180cm height is good for pretty much anywhere except perhaps very odd exceptions where people are super tall. I believe it’s like the 75000usd threshold for happiness in the USA. Statistically women aren’t significantly much more attracted to height increase above 180cm. But below 180cm the average women attraction significantly raises with height and it’s a very strong force. This is for the western world, but in other countries where people are significantly smaller the threshold is lower. Anyways, this does not concern you.
I confirm the same feeling about ASD in Singapore. I understand your type is white women, I think if you go in a city with virtually no asian looking people, and there are many such cities in europe, with your height and your exotic factor you will have the niche of women who like asian guys throwing themselves at you with no game required, and I would bet a lot would do it no string attached (when you show that you are not completely ‘settled’ on top of excoticism it very often annihilates ASD). Also definitely you would kill in Thailand and Philippines.
I’m not pissed at all. This stuff is mostly entertainment for me at this point, not something that makes me angry, repressed or otherwise. The worst I feel about it is mild irritation sometimes.
I was angry about this stuff 15 years ago, but that was a long time ago.
Ask Roosh how that worked out. Or Paul Elam. Or Ron Paul. Or the Tea Party guys. Or… It goes on and on. External solutions don’t work. The Western world is far beyond fixing at this point. We need to either leave it behind or ride it out as best we can.
That’s correct, and he’s a great illustration of my point. He didn’t run for president to become president and save the world, as you said. He ran for president because he liked talking about libertarianism. It made him happy. He was very clear about that. He had no actual intention of saving the world.
Depends on what you mean by “worth it.” If by “worth it” you mean your own information and growth, then that’s great and I agree with you. If by “worth it” you mean he made the world a better place, you are wrong. Even years after his death, government is bigger than ever, and libertarians got slaughtered in the last presidential election, as always. He informed some people, which is nice, but in terms of solving societal problems, he accomplished nothing. That’s exactly how this works.
A Mission is not a goal. I suggest you re-read chapter 9 of my book (if you’ve already purchased it) to refresh yourself on the definition of Mission. Goals are goals. Mission is an overriding life purpose. A Mission is supported by goals, but a Mission is not a goal. It can’t be.
Exactly. A Mission is not a goal, but if you were to define a “goal” of my Mission, it’s long-term consistent happiness, for the rest of my life. If you boil everything down, that’s the only goal I have.
They already have. And they are just as bad as the progressives they (pretend to) dislike so much. As BD said, collectivism and external solutions do not work. And further, and this is my own .02, external solutions are very antiquated, and prevent us from moving forward as a species.
Progressives want a world that will make progressives and only progressives happy.
Tradcons want a world that will make tradcons and only tradcons happy.
Neither support nonaggression, nor do they support the view of “live and let live,” no matter how charming their language and rhetoric seem to be.
Political correctness detected. Initiating red pill countermeasures now:
Did the Spanish have a right to genocide the Indians and establish Mexico? Your point?
HAHAHA!!!!! But, but, but, but, but………….slavery! White privilege! Systemic, institutional, structural, blah blah blah…..get that Marxist trash out of my face, dude!
So what are you saying? We should be the victims of cultural genocide because of something that happened before we were born? We should pay for what other adults did, despite not having had any control over it? How does any sane person think that makes sense? Our laws shouldn’t be enforced because our ancestors didn’t respect the laws of others? So we should pay for others that looked like us?
I already know you’re a racist, since you believe in the racist concept of “collective guilt,” and the barbaric middle eastern idea of “original sin,” but what’s your point?
Correct! And if all is fair, then it’s fair for us to throw them back to Mexico and execute those who resist! Thank you for admitting that, and for admitting that these illegals have consciously and purposely started a war!
I thought……we just agreed that we’re in a war! Also:
Can you identify the two words that don’t belong in that sentence? “Fringe” and “Mexicans.”
First of all, “fringe?” No. My views are backed up by the American majority, which is why we have our current president. It is your views on this topic that are fringe, trapped in an LA and NYC bubble of PC nonsense being spewed from elitist academia which means zero to 99.9 percent of normal Americans. Get out of your bubble and see what America really thinks. You’d be shocked!
Second of all, “Mexicans?” We’re talking about criminal aliens here. By saying “Mexicans,” you’re deceitfully implying that I have a problem with Mexican American citizens, or Mexicans in general because of their race or color. You are therefore either being ignorant of language, or are trying to be deliberately dishonest!
In some cases that’s true, but not in most.
Uh huh.
Yes, I’ve already stated a few times here that, under the Patriot Act, Black Lives Matter should be gassed or drone striked out of existence and all the racist “Chicano” Hispanic nationalist groups, like MECHA, should be either deported or killed.
Yes, that much is clear.
A country that is destroying itself in which a majority of the country is against the country’s actions. Hmmm.
What worth is economic development if it isn’t ecologically sustainable and doesn’t serve the general well-being of people? I don’t want to live in a collapsing and toxic place, but I don’t care to live in a place which is at the peak of finance, economy or technology either.
As far as I am concerned, indicators such as the Happy Planet Index are more accurate for me to choose a place where to LIVE.
Take a look at it, USA is one of the worst place in the world, very unsustainable lifestyle and it doesn’t even make people more happy. Dubai is extremely bad too. Never been there, but Costa Rica ranks 1st.
I have lived in Thailand though, and it’s fairly developed, I don’t feel like things are missing there. Organization of every day things may look bad on the surface from a queueing/German type of perspective, but it’s actually very efficient. Most CONVENIENT place to live in the world. And I haven’t even talked about the sex positivity: OLTR type of model is well known, I don’t know how prevalent it is, but it is well known and understood (main partner + ‘gik(s)’=some variation of the FBs concept, model accepted by a significant proportion of the women, however attempting 2 OLTR is considered not acceptable by the vast majority and leads to a breakup) and I read a UN report who showed prostitution (illegal in theory but not enforced) is less stigmatized in this country than anywhere else, both the professionals and the clients.
Culture is Buddhist, which is probably the old “religion”/”mass philosophy” the most devoid of social programming: there is virtually nothing said about sex or marriage in Buddhism (besides consent and pointing that having more love relationships and kids than one can handle makes life more difficult), not even any specific ceremony besides just getting the blessing of the monks (which a polyamorous triad already got, it was in the news last year). Sure there is also an existing conservative and traditional culture in Thailand but Buddhism urges to keep a critical mind even considering traditions which aren’t necessarily the best way to do things. This whole social aspect plays a big role in making Thailand and efficient place in term of transforming resources into health and happiness, imo.
I regularly browse this site. The writing is usually well-argued, brief, to the point and based on logic and reason. The dismisal of the threat of feminism was a recent example. I could not agree more.
And then there is writing like this. Complete nonsense. Clearly the weird pet subject of the completly unfounded belief in the end of the west seems to set aside usual standards. Is immigration really crushing europe? Of course not. Its a problem, yes, but reality is that the electorate reaction is far ahead of the increase in immigration. Numbers are still low and they cant really grow much because if they do, there will be a reaction. Rape crisis? Please. Terrorism? Sure, but lets keep a perspective. Attacks would need to grow ten-fold or probably far more to even match the improvement in road safety in just ten years.
Or then its teen pregnancy killing the western world. Based on nothing of substance. Where I live, we have plenty of big government. Really big. Attitudes to sex or alcohol are extremly relaxed. I remember being poured wine in big beer cups when probably fifteen by a drunk teacher at some school event. Not an issue. So with lots of drunken teenage sex and big government ready to hand out massive support to a teen-mom no doubt this is end-of-the-world stuff.
Except of course it isnt. Because big government, or the wellfare state, doesnt work even remotely the way americans seem to believe. In many ways it supports capitalism. A quick google suggest american teen pregnancy rates are 4-5 times higher than here. Big government support for teen-moms clearly doesnt encourage it. It stops it.
Thomas, scroll up to the top of this thread and read my first two comments here, which directly address people with your viewpoint. Your entire comment is awash with extreme left-wing bias, which is unsurprising considering your cultural Societal Programming since you live in Denmark. Read my comments above.
Sorry mr Dragon, but to refer me to your own prejudice is hardly a serious argument.
You specifically write that teen mothers getting support from big government will destroy countries etc etc. Reality is the exact opposite. Those who support them will see the problem go away. At least thats what available evidence suggest. You challenge SP based on facts commendably when it comes to monogamy or other nonsense but not so much when it gets in the way of pet ideas, such as the supposed death of the west
